Scan the system drives:
If you are using a Windows system, then the CHKDSK utility tool in the Windows can help you to scan the system drives.

- On the Windows desktop, open the My Computer or My PC and right-click on the Seagate drive.
- Select the Properties option and then choose Tools.
- Now, select the Check Now menu under Error Checking to start scanning the drive for any issues.

- Perform the Advanced scan to find more issues and fix the problem.
- Make sure not to turn off or restart the computer while the scan is in progress.
Use Command Prompt to scan
You can scan the drive with the Command Prompt program on the Windows system.
- Press the Win key and the R key together to open the Run dialog box on the Windows system.
- Now, enter “cmd” in the Run dialog box and click OK.
- Before running Command Prompt, make sure you are logged in to your Administrator account.
- Otherwise, search the Command Prompt on the desktop using the Search bar next to the Start icon.
- When the suggested results appear on the screen, right-click on the Command Prompt menu and choose Run as administrator.
- After the Command Prompt window opens up, type the below commands and press Enter after each command line.
- “chkdsk /f driveletter” for basic scanning of the drive
- “chkdsk /r driveletter” for advanced scanning of the drive
- The drive letter has to be the letter that is assigned to the Seagate drive on the Windows computer.
- The system scans the drive you have chosen and lists the issues with the drive, and tries to repair the issue.
- After that, restart the computer and verify if the CRC error is solved.
- If the system cannot fix the problem, then use a third-party tool to resolve the error.

- From the list of files, choose the files for recovery and go on to recover them.
