Can’t copy files to Seagate Backup Plus from a Mac device:

  1. First, check whether your Seagate Backup Plus drive has sufficient space left to store files.
  2. Right-click on your Seagate drive and select the Get Info option from the list. If the format of the Seagate drive is NTFS, you have to change the format to use the Seagate Backup Plus drive on your Mac device.
  3. If you don’t have any files on your Seagate drive, click the Finder icon and select Applications.
  4. Double-click on the Utilities folder and go to the Disk Utility section.
  5. Select the Seagate Backup Plus drive on the left panel in the Disk Utility window.
  6. Now, click on the Erase icon and reformat the Seagate drive.
  7. Choose the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) option in the Format section if you are using only the Mac device with your Seagate Backup Plus drive.
  8. Rename the drive and select the Scheme as GUID Partition Map from the drop-down list. Then, click Erase.
  9. Once the drive is formatted, you will receive a confirmation message on the screen. Now, click Done.
  10. On a Mac operating system of version 10.16 and higher, select your Seagate drive in the Disk Utility window.
  11. Select the Partition tab and choose the Partition Layout as 1 from the displayed list.
  12. Choose Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and navigate to the Options section.
  13. Select the GUID Partition Table as a partition scheme and click OK.
  14. Finally, click the Apply tab to save the settings.
  15. When prompted for confirmation to partition the disk, click Partition to complete the format.
  16. Restart your Mac device and try copying the file.
